Genevieve
Feiwen Lee, made her New York solo debut at Merkin Concert Hall in the
Spring of 1998. She performed at the Salle Gaveau recital hall, after
winning first prize in the annual Concours at the Ecole Normale de Musique
de Paris, and was a soloist with the Sao Paulo State Symphony Orchestra
in Brazil as part of its Mozart celebration. Ms. Lee has appeared throughout
the United States and Canada in solo and chamber-music recitals and her
performances in Changsha, China. She has performed in chamber music festivals
at the Garth Newel Music Center, Virginia and Incontri di Canna, Italy,
and was a resident artist at The Banff Centre for the Arts in Alberta,
Canada during 1997-98. A champion of new music, Ms. Lee has premiered
and commissioned several works.
Ms. Lee received her bachelor's degree at the Peabody Conservatory of
Music. She spent a year as a full-scholarship student at the Ecole Normale
de Musique de Paris and completed her doctoral degree at the Yale School
of Music, where she studied with Boris Berman. Before joining the faculty
of Pomona College in 1994, Ms. Lee taught at Yale, Bucknell University,
and The Crane School of Music at the State University of New York-Potsdam.
