The Fourth Annual Beverly Hills International Music Festival is delighted to return in 2007 with eight summer evening concerts. Featuring both emerging talent and world-renowned musicians performing a wide range of music at the Beverly Hills Presbyterian Church August 3 through August 13, 2007.
In addition to concert performances, the annual Festival offers master class opportunities for talented young musicians under the auspices of local and international music faculty. Students from the U.S., Mexico, Chile, Canada, China and Russia, will undertake intensive study with twenty four music instructors. The faculty roster includes: Cyrus Forough (violin), a laureate of the Tchaikovsky International Competition and professor of violin at Carnegie Mellon University; Krassimira Jordan (piano), whom the New York Times describes as, "a formidable player with a dazzling energy and driving spirit"; David Weiss (oboe) a faculty member at the USC Thornton School of Music and the Music Academy of the West. He also serves as Chairman of the Music Advisory Board of the Young Musicians Foundation. Recently retired after thirty years as principal oboe of the Los Angeles Philharmonic; Linda Rose (violin), Professor California State University, Long Beach, author of "Progressive Scale Studies"; Diane Roscetti (cello), professor of cello at California State University of Northridge; Judith Farmer (bassoon), who has an extensive international performance history in addition to her appearances with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, the Los Angeles Opera Company, and the Long Beach Symphony; Richard Tood (horn), internationally renowned concert, and recording artist; John Van Cura (baritone), professor of vocal studies at the Baylor University in Texas; Lorenz Gamma (violin), internationally active as soloist, recitalist and chamber musician, currently serves on the violin faculty at University of California in Los Angeles; Susan Greenberg (flute), a versatile soloist, chamber musician, symphony player, and recording artist and Joon Sung Jun (cello), professor in the Shepherd University School of Music who started his studies with Professor Eleonore Schoenfeld since he was 16.
ABOUT THE FESTIVAL The Annual Beverly Hills International Music Festival is directed by its Founder, Gregory Cherninsky, under the auspices of the DMG Music Association. Premiering in 2004, this annual event provides audiences with a unique opportunity to enjoy a wide range of classical music performances with world-renowned musicians and talented young virtuosos. The Festival also provides up-and-coming musicians intensive study opportunities with an elite Festival music faculty.
